CASE STUDY

Ayat Shaikh

Ayat first started her music coaching at the age of 6 and within a few months, she grasped onto the perfect notes and keys of music.

Every unsung song is just another untold story. Some grove to music while some channelize their emotions through it, some find their hope in music and some persist due to music, but what is common is the connection we establish with it and enjoy the melody. With increasing stress levels among kids and their airtight schedules, music is one such thing that finds its place in everyone’s daily life. It soothes all ears irrespective of the age. While singing is one of the most chosen extracurricular activities, many deem it to be a treacherous path in terms of career.

About 85% of kids play a musical instrument out of interest as compared to 74% of adults. Learning a musical instrument is integrated into the artistic and creative development of a child’s brain and studies have proven that children who learn to play a musical instrument learn to hear and process sounds that they could not hear otherwise. This helps them develop “neurophysiological distinction” between certain sounds that can aid in literacy, which can translate into improved academic results for kids. As parents, it is very important to understand the interest of the child while equipping their skill development procedure. We have numerous examples of such children who have awestruck masses and we are fortunate to have one such YoungXpert on board with us.

8-year-old Ayat Shaikh took people by surprise when her home videos went viral and received recognition for which many struggles for years. Trained under Ankita Joshi and Makarand Kadam, Ayat is no less than a metaphor for a rhapsody. Due to her keen inclination towards music, she first started her music coaching at the age of 6 and within a few months, she grasped onto the perfect notes and keys of music. Given her talent, Ayat and her parents decided to take a leap forward and register for a singing reality show where she became the youngest to be a part of Top 20.

Performing abroad in various events while getting multiple offers to cast such a charismatic persona, she knew this was only the beginning. She did not restrict herself to singing as an artist but has also acted on T.V shows like Kya Haal Mr. Panchal, Vidya, Yeh Teri Galiyan. Ayat has been awarded Zee Rishtey Award for Best Nanhe Sadasya at the age of 10, achieving another laurel and claiming another victory. We wish Ayat all the best for her future endeavors and genuinely insist all the young kids out there, struggling to catch a break- it is okay to choose the easy path once in a while as long as it feels right. No career is wrong, ability, skill, and passion are what will help you grow.
