This 10 year old star from Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram is a mesmerizing drummer.  Where in this society there is still a limitation on learning apart from academics, this young talent is making his name in the field of music.

Rudransh Singh was only 2 years old when his father bought him his first professional size keyboard. Although he was too young to play it, he still tried his hands on the instrument. It was that moment when his interest in music began. When he turned 5, he was introduced to drums on his birthday. Watching his inclination towards the music field, his parents decided to train him in his area of interest. A teacher named, ‘Mr Shahzad Aahmad’ has since then been coming to teach him drums.

Once he started playing drums there was no looking back. Not only drums, he has learnt the basics of Tabla from renowned tabla maestro Shri Pranshu Chaturlal, who is the grandson of legendary Tabla Samrat Late Pandit Chaturlal. He has a deep interest in percussion instruments.

Rudransh considers himself very lucky to have extremely supporting teachers and parents. He recalls how his mother used to drive him 30 kms everyday for his Tabla classes. He has always been told that there are no shortcuts because nothing comes easy and hence he does his riyaaz daily. He is a fortunate kid to have been shown the path and is being taught to chase his dreams. His mother took him to many musical concerts. Music requires a lot of effort, time and practice. He has seen legendary artists perform, heard their interviews. His teachers have guided him with variations, how to be different, how to explore and practice new beats.

Music improves creativity. Additionally, learning music cultivates many skills that will continue to be useful to your children throughout their lives. Concentration, coordination, relaxation, patience and self confidence are some of the skills that listening to music and taking music lessons help to develop in children. The drums are a rhythm instrument, so it helps to keep the listener aware of where the beats are. In particular, drums also can help to emphasize changes in parts of a song.

At such a young age, Rudransh feels blessed and thanks God for being generous and giving him the opportunity to present himself in front of audiences many times. He has been performing for a few years now. For three consecutive years he has performed (played drums) in Kargil Vijayotsav. In 2017, he was honoured to receive the upcoming artist award from Shri Shatrughan Sinha. In 2018 then Air Chief Marshal B S Dhanoa, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VM, ADV. 2019 he got a chance to perform at Air Force Auditorium Western Command for Pre-Independence Day celebration.
