Ananya V. Ganesh, a child author from Chennai has achieved several milestones for her age and only views them as her stepping-stones for her ideal future.
Writing presents the virtue of an individual they say, it provides a close peek into the minds of the artist who creates it, and the closer the art is to the writer, the more one connects. Some writers get inspired by their life and there are those writers who dedicate their lives to innovation inspired by writing. We have one such young mind between us who manages to strike a balance between her inspiring life and her impactful writing. Ananya V. Ganesh, a 14-year-old from Chennai has achieved several milestones for her age and only views them as her stepping-stones for her ideal future.
She had published her first book “9 Chocolatey Bites” at the tender age of 10 where most us are busy choosing between the flavours of chocolates we love, and her second book “Dancing Kites” was soon released at the age of 13 which is an enchanting anthology of poems weaving emotions like laughter, loneliness, joy, tears. She believes the book is for all who want to stay happy but know for a fact that it is okay to not be so at times, for all those who need to be shown that they are not alone and will always be special. Her maturity is way ahead of her years and her insights on the art of creating are exceptionally unique. This 14-year-old author from Chettinad Harishree Vidyalayam suggests that “Writing a story is like exploring a dense jungle or climbing a mountain or swimming across an ocean. You never know when you will reach the other side. When you sit down to write, you just get so many ideas. Your imagination runs wild, and you can’t seem to catch it. It throws a hundred light bulbs at you, but you have to find the one that fits just right.”
Having said so, she is equally dedicated to her academics and believes in maintaining reading as a parallel activity. Finishing up projects and homework, meeting deadlines, and hanging out with her best friends account for a major chunk of her day, however, it does not let any of that hinder the process of creativity and reading. Her early curiosity in books was first discovered when she was 10 months old and before anyone knew she advanced her interest in reading books like Famous Five by the age of 5.
Ananya and her family follow a particularly chalked out plan for the weekdays forbidding television and strongly emphasizing on spending family time and on productive activities. Apart from her music, dance, and sports classes, she ensures that she gives her best in all her attempts to discover her inner self.
Inspired by writers like Enid Blyton, J.K Rowling, and Wendy Mass, Ananya aspires to inculcate her comprehension of their works in her books one day. Her profound understanding of every form of writing makes it a pleasure for one to read her books. After all, it takes a lot of courage to experiment and accomplish at the same time!
Like all the other writers out there, Ananya truly wishes for her audience to connect to her words and find a sense of meaning in them while being able to relate it with their own story. Her effortless and feather-like words leave a ripple impact on the reader as they implore one to see what truly lies within their bottomless soul. Her idea to cover all the feelings that take shape and all those feelings that leave a person muddled up has truly been a stellar idea for a child so young.
Despite all the efforts put in for months, Ananya’s favourite part of the process is meeting up with publishers and deciding what goes into the book. According to Ananya, her moment of excitement was having Kiran Bedi write her foreword and her brief conversation with Ms.Bedi where she was told to never stop reading or writing as someone truly said, “Pen is mightier than Sword!”
Working on new ideas and to create something original might be difficult and challenging for most of us, but Ananya here carries within herself the power of expression, and exploring a true sense of that very essence is an incredible talent. Some of us find ourselves in characters that authors write about, and some of us find ourselves painting the characters like us, but what matters is if we really know ourselves, and activities like reading and writing only bring you closer to yourself. Her message for all the youngsters out there is to simply color their own lives in ways that make them happy. We wish you good luck with your future endeavors Ananya, we cannot wait to see more of your work!
