This 3.5 year old is the Youngest in India to recite the complete periodic table in 1 min and 49 secs.He has been awarded this title by the India Book of Records as and subsequently by the Asia Book of Records to recite the periodic table in the least time.
When you think about a 3.5-year-old kid – what’s the first picture that comes in your mind? A giggling child playing with the toys or a crying mess in the lap of the parents? Whatever is the image - it will surely not be of a child who knows about the Periodic table- let alone learns and recites it. But we have an extraordinary young one with us, Kavish Hasti, who is the Youngest in India to recite the complete periodic table in 1 min and 49 secs. He has been awarded this title by the India Book of Records as and subsequently by the Asia Book of Records to recite the periodic table in the least time.
When asked about Kavish’s interest in the periodic table, his parents quoted the Sadhguru, ‘One should let the child learn on its own by observing and listening rather than imposing what we want our child to learn,’ which stands very true. Since his early childhood, Kavish had been a very curious child. When he was given a balloon to play with, instead of playing he asked questions like, ‘Why does the balloon fly?’, ‘What is filled inside the balloon?’ When pointed to look at a bird, he would ask his parents, ‘Why is the sky blue?’ ‘Why can the bird fly and not us?’
Although his parents had always encouraged him to ask questions – it’s difficult introducing the concept of gravity and spectrum to a child who is still learning the English alphabets. But these questions kept increasing with every day and fostered greater curiosity and his interest in science.
No matter his age, Kavish showed a keen interest in learning the chemical elements and he was able to pronounce difficult words with such ease. It was his mother who started teaching him the periodic table. One element a day and its uses in their day to day lives kept his curiosity alive, and gradually the learning accelerated its pace and he was even able to recall all the previous elements in the correct order. Learning the periodic table was like a game for him and his parents could watch him enjoying the competition in recalling all the elements in the correct order.
Kavish is also fascinated with space and rockets. At such a young age, he already dreams of becoming an Astronaut. He has this ability to learn difficult things easily because of his curiosity. He can also recognize the flags of 206 countries of the world. He knows the name of many inventors and types of doctors. To achieve his dream of being an Astronaut, he is already learning how to repair computer parts and robotics. Apart from this, he has an interest in music and he plays Drums and Casio. He also tries to sing along.
This young one has a long way to go. We are sure that along the way while he will be achieving numerous milestones, he will also inspire many more young minds!
