In this age of technology, information is very freely available. Internet and smartphones can be seen in every hand. From preschoolers to teenagers, children these days are more tech-savvy and reliant on technology than ever before.

Even young kids of this generation are much sharper than yesterday’s children. Actually, they are more capable of grasping difficult concepts early on in life. This may be due to early exposure to technology in rich households.

Schools can help to build this learning mindset of students. The process can include channeling it correctly and helping them understand how they can skill themselves better using the technology available to us.

Technology should be introduced in schools with a beginner’s approach to helping in building the base skills for the students.

The recent CBSE decision to launch a course in Artificial Intelligence for class 8, 9 and 10 students from the next academic session is really praiseworthy.

These are the kind of changes that are necessary. Schools can provide the first experience to students with the latest trends and ways of digital learning. It is necessary to intervene at the school level and offer such unique and new options to our youth. This also develops curiosity and kids like to explore new things since our traditional education system does not recognize skill training as the prime factor or resource for job opportunities.

Skill development is required to be included as part of the schooling curriculum so that by the students completes their schooling education, they will be certified in one or more job roles according to their aptitude.

Educational institutions should be capable to recognize the expertise of students at a very tender age. They can further try to uplift that particular skillset to make them job-ready in that sector. Additional to this, schools and universities should include various life skillset courses.

In the present scenario, employers are looking for candidates who have a combination of technical or hard skills, soft skills, and life skills. When you go for a job interview, the company doesn’t just look for the educational qualification but also the qualities that will help you and the company grow collectively. The qualities can only be achieved by giving them schooling and skilling both at the same time.

Traditional schooling helps in shaping social skills, sums up to the basic knowledge of various subjects, teaches community sharing, helping in the understanding of history and so on. Schooling usually focuses on the basics principles of life whereas skill development classes or courses will help the students with time management, communication skills, and soft skills. This, in turn, will help our next generation take the country forward.

The conventional way of education revolves around academia, but skill training which centers on identification, training and nurturing talent in the desired field, will help the next generation to be confident and job-ready. The center of attention at KidsChaupal is a better future for our next generation where kids can explore their talent, interests, and abilities.
